A global service provider to industrial automation customers needed to adhere to its customer’s service agreements for tracking and monitoring processes on a 24/7/365 basis. With their current solution providing minimal visibility to critical process performance indications of temperature, humidity and flow, the services provider was trying to determine how to implement the Internet of Things (IoT) to use real-time and trending data to enhance their monitoring and service offerings
With the advanced flexibility of the Zatar platform, the team proposed a custom solution that provides visibility real-time into a customer’s process. By enabling the provider to monitor, visualize and extract data on critical operational parameters in real-time, they are able to provide the customer with insights and recommendations into the health and condition of their processes before a major or catastrophic failure occurs. Real-time visualization combined with historic data captured by Zatar enables the provider to become a trusted partner by providing recommendations for operational improvements and maintenance. The Zatar factory automation and monitoring solution provided many value-added functions, including the ability to aggregate data from multiple sensors; the ability to visualize sensor data to enable easy understanding and interpretation, create alerts for out of range parameters for proactive support; and the ability to seamlessly connect multiple types of sensor devices while opening up new streams of data.
The global service provider gained an improved understanding of customers business to create new value added solutions and programs. With real-time operational visibilty to keep processes operating smoothly and efficiently, the solution offers early predictors of impending failures often disruptive to operations. The solution also led to a reduction in non-critical service and support calls.
